centrifugal compression trains driven
by electric motors and three DR-61G
(LM2500) gas turbine generator sets.
The compressor trains will be manufactured in Olean, New York, U.S.A.,
and the gas turbines will be engineered by Dresser-Rand Kongsberg
and packaged at Samsung Techwin’s
facilities in Changwon, South Korea.
The order booked in October 2009.
In May 2009, Dresser-Rand signed a
strategic cooperation agreement with
Samsung Techwin for packaging of
centrifugal compressors and gas turbines. The agreement covers serving
clients in the marketplace including
FPSO vessels and floating LNG (FLNG).
Gaumer Delivers Custom
ElectroClean System
Gaumer Process designed and delivered a custom ElectroClean fuel gas
conditioning system (electric preheater, pressure reduction, filter/coa-lescers, superheater and control
panel) to Alaska Electric & Energy
Cooperative in a six-week timeframe.
“We needed a fuel gas conditioning
system on an almost impossible
schedule,” said Norm Moore, Plant
Superintendent — Alaska Electric &
Energy Cooperative. “Gaumer met the
challenge and surpassed our expecta-
tions with their technical expertise, re-
sponsiveness and flexibility.”
“ElectroClean fuel gas conditioning
systems are fully optimized — provid-
ing turbine customers less complexity,
commissioning time, space, weight
and cost,” said Jeff McClanahan, presi-
dent of Gaumer Process. “Response
from the power generation and oil
and gas industries to Gaumer’s com-
plete line of engineered systems has
been remarkable.”
Alliance Engineering
Awarded Gulfstream Natural
Gas System Contract
has been awarded a contract to provide engineering, design and procurement support services for the expansion of Compressor Station 420 on the
Gulfstream Natural Gas System in
Florida, U.S.A. The expansion at the
existing compressor station includes a
gas turbine-driven compressor unit, a
compressor building extension,
pipeline and process connections and
utility systems as necessary for the operation of the new compressor unit.
Installation of the new compressor
unit at the existing facility is scheduled to be completed in 2011.
“This project will allow us to apply
our fit-for-purpose compressor station design expertise to another compressor station on the Gulfstream
Natural Gas System, which in turn
will allow Gulfstream to increase
pipeline capacity while maximizing
facility operating efficiencies,” said
Alliance President Edmund Lunde.
