Elliott Global Service
Turbomachinery OEM Elliott Co. announced that Paul Butzberger has
joined the company as vice president of
Global Service. An energy industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, Elliott said that Butzberger is
charged with leading Elliott’s aftermarket
businesses as well as executing the company’s strategic growth initiatives for
Global Service. Butzberger will report directly to Anthony Casillo, Elliott Co. president and CEO.
“Paul brings valuable experience and a
track record of leading several businesses
to sustained double-digit growth,” said
Casillo. “His demonstrated leadership
with multinational service operations will
be an invaluable asset to our Global
Service organization.”
For his part, Butzberger said he be-
lieves that Elliott’s global service network
is poised for tremendous growth. He
pledged to build upon “the successes of
the last few years by integrating more
closely with customers, operations and
other facets of Elliott’s business to further
enhance value to our clients through our
service relationships.”
In recent years, Butzberger was presi-
dent, Western Hemisphere for Vetco
Gray, now a GE Oil & Gas business. Prior
positions include president of Dresser Oil
Tools, executive vice president of
European Valve & Controls for Dresser
Industries, and vice president and general
manager for Dresser-Rand’s Electric
Machinery business. He holds a BA in
Management from the University of
Texas, Austin, and completed his gradu-
ate work at the University of Texas, Red
McCombs School of Business.
White House said that Persily has worked
for more than a decade on oil and gas issues for three Alaska governors and the
Alaska State Legislature. He currently is
an aide handling oil and gas issues for
Alaska State House Finance Committee
Co-Chair Mike Hawker. He previously
served as Deputy Commissioner at the
Alaska Department of Revenue until 2003
and returned in 2004 to assist the state
and North Slope oil and gas producers
with developing a natural gas pipeline to
serve North American consumers.
He later worked in the Office of the
Governor of Alaska in Washington, D.C.,
U.S.A., and has represented the state at
oil and gas conferences and presented on
Alaska oil, gas and fiscal issues.

Alaska Natural Gas Projects
President Barack Obama has nominated Larry Persily to become federal
coordinator for Alaska Natural Gas
Transportation Projects, a position
charged with shepherding activities by
federal agencies with respect to the per-mitting and construction of a pipeline to
bring North Slope gas to markets. The
nomination is subject to the approval of
the U.S. Senate.
The position of Federal Coordinator
was established during the Bush administration in the Fiscal Year 2005 Military
Construction Appropriations Bill. The
Office of the Federal Coordinator is an independent office within the executive
branch that reports directly to the White
House. Persily will fill a vacancy created
by the resignation of current coordinator
Drue Pearce, effective Jan. 3, 2010, who
has served as the first Federal Coordinator since December 2006.
