follow the same principles that it has for more
than 50 years.
INTRODUCING A WELL-KNOWN COMPANY
Gas Compression Cooling Firm Air-X-Changers
becomes Harsco Industrial Air-X-Changers
By Phil Burnside
From its base in Tulsa, Oklahoma,
U.S.A., Air-X-Changers has manufactured air-cooled heat exchangers used
in gas compression and other applications for more than 50 years. Effective
Jan. 1, 2010, the company took on a
new name, one that “better reflects
our long-standing relationship with
Harsco Corp., the U.S.-based international corporation that acquired Air-X-Changers back in 1976,” explained
Rick Ketchum, vice president and
general manager of the firm.
Ketchum said that Harsco’s global
strength and resources have been key
factors in Air-X-Changers’ success and
growth, and that the name change is
part of a comprehensive Harsco plan
to rebrand and unify its business units.
“Our new name spotlights that relationship, a relationship that, behind
the scenes until now, has benefited
our customers and our trade allies for
more than three decades. Under the
new brand, we will go forward together with the other companies in
the Harsco family,” he said.
Ketchum said that over 55 years of
company history, Air-X-Changers has
stuck to a few basic commitments, including “quality, performance, service,
availability and the solid promise that
the company will stand by each and
every unit it ships.” He said those
commitments won’t change, but working together with other members of
the Harsco family will help strengthen
the company’s ability to keep them.
“By uniting our strengths under the
Harsco identity,” Ketchum said, “we
and the other Harsco business units
will all be able to better serve our
customers as a larger and better-con-
nected organization uniquely able to
deliver comprehensive, value-creating
solutions on a global scale.”
He pointed out that Harsco’s global
presence has allowed Air-X-Changers
to launch initiatives in China, Australia,
Kazakhstan and the Middle East.
The company also produces lube
oil cooling systems tailored to the
needs of turbine operators, and has
adapted its designs for use in power
generation, landfill gas compression
and other applications. In addition, it
manufactures cooler parts for any
make or model of cooler and offers a
full range of on-site field services. ;
