Exline Inc. Acquires NAK
Engineering
Exline Inc. of Salina, Kansas, U.S.A.,
has acquired NAK Engineering Inc.,
the OEM for Nordberg engine parts and
accessories. Located in Santa Rosa,
California, U.S.A., NAK Engineering supplies Nordberg engine owners and operators support in the form of parts service
and technical support worldwide.
“This acquisition will greatly enhance
our ability to grow revenues in the gas
transmission, power generation and marine markets. Our already existing field
services and component part repair capabilities will blend well with the
Nordberg product line to provide a complete service to the Nordberg engine
owner-operator. This move will position
Exline to take the well-established parts
business NAK engineering perfected and
leverage it to grow X. lines parts sales
providing component parts for engines
and compressors such as Cooper
Bessemer, Clark, Worthington and
Ingersoll Rand,” said Rob Exline, president and CEO of Exline Inc.
Exline Inc. operates four business units
including Repair and Manufacturing, Field
Services, Parts Sales, and Ignition and Auto-
mation, each designed to provide a full
range of products and services to its natural
gas transmission, petrochemical, power util-
ities and marine and industrial customers.
Cummins Inc.
Cummins Inc. announced that Rich
Freeland has been named the next president of the company’s Engine Business.
Freeland, currently president – Components Business, will succeed Jim Kelly
whose planned departure from his current role was announced previously.
Kelly will leave current his role as
president of the Engine group in March
2010 to lead a number of key cross-busi-ness strategic projects.
“Earlier this year, Jim expressed his
desire to retire and for a smooth leadership transition in the Engine Business. I
am extremely pleased that he has decided to remain with Cummins awhile
longer in order to help us tackle some
important enterprise-wide initiatives,”
said Cummins President and Chief Operating Officer Tom Linebarger.
With Freeland moving to the Engine
group, Anant Talaulicar will succeed
Freeland as president of the Components
business while continuing to serve in his
current capacity as managing director of
Cummins India. Both Freeland and
Talaulicar will also assume their new
roles in March 2010.
GE Oil & Gas
GE Oil & Gas recently celebrated the
completion of US$5 million in upgrades to
its European drilling and production equipment repair, maintenance and refurbish-ment global services facility in Montrose,
Scotland. The renovated facility consolidates GE’s previous drilling and production
services operations in Aberdeen, Scotland,
into one, central technology location.
The new site includes extensive warehouse facilities and a new production
control systems (PCS) building. The
20,000 sq.ft. (1860 m2) PCS building
houses a clean room, test and assembly
bays and is fully equipped for all testing
and flushing requirements on PCS equipment. It also houses a real-time diagnostic data link to GE Oil & Gas’ U.K. subsea
production controls center of excellence,
or SmartCenter, at Nailsea, near Bristol.
The new 30,000 sq.ft. (2790 m2) warehouse is fully racked and offers enhanced
consolidation and protection for cus-tomer-owned and rental stock.
